Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...An old frontal boundary extending from Straits of Florida southwest across the Yucatan Channel to the NW Gulf of Honduras will drift eastward through today with active weather along and east of the boundary. A reinforcing cold front from near Naples Florida to Mexican coast near Tampico will move SE of the area today and merge with old front. A weak surface high will develop over the NW gulf today with a ridge extending southeastward to the Straits of Florida. High pressure over the northwest Gulf will shift northeastward and inland on Sun, then shift eastward off the Georgia coast on Mon with the ridge then extending west- southwest across the northern gulf waters through Wed.
