Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A nearly stationary front along the NE Mexico and
Texas coasts will move N tonight. Strong winds will affect the
Straits of Florida and the waters adjacent to the Yucatan
Peninsula tonight. Otherwise, strong high pres over the W Atlc
ridging W over the Gulf will generate moderate to fresh SE
return flow across the basin through Sun. A weak cold front will
drift into the Texas coastal waters late Sun then head SE and
extend from the FL Panhandle to Veracruz Mexico Mon afternoon.
