Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front currently extending SW from the Florida
Panhandle to near Veracruz Mexico will reach from SW Florida to
the Bay of Campeche where it will become stationary NW to near
22N98W by late this afternoon. The stationary front will meander
across the SW Gulf through Fri night, then lift N as a warm
front on Sat. Minimal gale conditions are forecast over the SW
Gulf waters near Veracruz, Mexico late this afternoon, then
develop again late Wed and continue through Wed evening.
Strengthening high pressure in the wake of the front will
produce strong to near gale force northerly winds across the
southern Gulf waters on Thu, with these conditions shifting
across the E Gulf on Fri and Sat.
