Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A frontal boundary extending from the western Florida Panhandle to SE of Brownsville near 25N96W will weaken and dissipate through Saturday as it slowly moves southeastward. SE. A trough extending from 25N93W to inland the NW Yucatan Peninsula will drift westward, and move inland along the Tamaulipas and Veracruz coast of Mexico by early Sunday. High pressure will then build southward across the eastern and central waters through Sunday night, then begin to shift eastward on Monday as a strong cold front moves across the central United States. This cold front is expected to reach the Texas coast early Tuesday afternoon, then reach from near Mobile Bay to the SW gulf late Tuesday night, from the NE gulf to the eastern Bay of Campeche early Wednesday afternoon and from near Tampa to the NW Yucatan Peninsula Wednesday night. Strong northerly winds and rapidly building seas will follow in the wake of the front, with winds possibly reaching gale force over portions of the far W central and SW gulf waters.
