Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Northerly winds and seas will continue to diminish
gradually, as high pressure shifts E across the N Gulf. Fresh
return flow will begin in the NW Gulf by midday today, ahead of
the next cold front expected to move into the NW Gulf midday
Fri, then reach from the Florida Panhandle to the SW corner of
the Gulf midday Sat. High pressure behind front will support
another round of strong Nly winds across much of the basin, with
gale force winds expected across the west-central and SW Gulf on
Sat.

.TODAY...NW winds less than 10 kt, shifting to SE in the
afternoon. Seas 3 to 4 ft in the morning, subsiding to 2 ft or
less. 
.TONIGHT...S winds 10 to 20 kt. Seas 2 ft or less, building to
3 to 5 ft after midnight.
