Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from NE Florida to 24N87W where it becomes stationary to Mexico near 18N94W in SW corner of Gulf. The cold front will reach the far SE waters early on Wednesday, and move E of the area during Wednesday afternoon. High pressure building in behind the front will usher in fresh to strong northerly winds across the area from this morning through Wednesday morning. These winds will diminish through Thursday afternoon as the high pressure shifts to the NE Gulf. The high pressure will weaken on Friday as another cold front moves across eastern Texas, and into the NW Gulf on Friday night. The front will then reach from the NE Gulf to near 24N86W to NE Yucatan Peninsula by midday Saturday. High pressure will bring another round of strong northerly flow across much of the basin, with northerly winds expected to reach gale force in the far SW Gulf portion.
