Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from a SE Mississippi 1013 mb low to 22N98W at Mexico coast. A trough is about 150 nm E of front from 23N to 28N. The trough will drift eastward through today and weaken. The front will extend from Tampa to NW Cuba Tuesday morning, and be moving through FL Straits Wednesday morning, and be completely out of area by Wednesday sunset. Strong ridge in the wake of the front will bring fresh to strong northerly winds into much of forecast waters from Tuesday sunrise until Thursday midnight. Winds will diminish through Thursday afternoon as the ridge shifts to the NE Gulf.
