Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...Winds will prevail light SE to S ahead of a cold front arriving on the Texas coast overnight. The front is expected to reach from near Apalachicola Florida to the NW corner of the Yucatan Peninsula by Monday afternoon, and from Sarasota Florida to NW Cuba by Tuesday afternoon. Strong high pressure will build southeastward across the area in the wake of the front producing gale-force winds over the SW Gulf by Mon night. Winds will remain in the moderate to fresh categories over the SW Gulf through the end of the week while gentle to moderate winds will prevail elsewhere.
