Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A NW to SE trough will meander across the far SW
waters through Fri night. High pres will build SW in the wake of
a weak front currently aligned NW to SE across the NE Gulf. As
this front shifts slowly SW to the central Gulf through Wed, 
fresh to strong winds will gradually spread across the majority
of the basin through mid-week, then diminishing by the end of
the week as the pres gradient relaxes.
