Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A thermal trough will develop each evening in the NW
Yucatan Peninsula, move into the SW Gulf overnight, where it
will dissipate each morning. Weak high pressure will remain
across the area through Wednesday night. A cold front will move
into the northern and western Gulf waters on Friday, and
possibly stall from northern Florida to far S Texas on Saturday
as high pressure builds southward behind it.
