Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Katia centered near 21.0N 96.5W 972 mb at
5 PM EDT moving WSW at 4 kt. Maximum winds 90 kt with gusts to
110 kt. Katia will move inland late this evening, and reach near
20.6N 96.4W tonight, with maximum sustained wind of 85 kt gusts
to 105 kt, then weaken through early Sat as it moves near 20.0N
98.0W before dissipating late Sat. Major Hurricane Irma is
forecast to enter the eastern Straits of Florida Sat afternoon,
then turn northward across the Florida peninsula Sat night and
Sunday, bringing tropical storm force and possibly hurricane
force winds to eastern portions of the Straits of Florida and
Florida Bay in the far SE Gulf late Sat into Sun.
