height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Franklin inland over Yucatan near
20.2N 90.3W at 5 PM moving WNW at 10 kt with maximum sustained
winds 35 kt gusts to 45 kt. Franklin will strengthen after it
moves into the SW Gulf, and approach hurricane intensity prior
to landfall south of Tampico along the coast of Mexico early
Thu. Winds and seas will decrease across the region through Thu
and Fri. Fresh NE to E winds are expected west of northern
Yucatan Thu night. Elsewhere, a ridge will meander across the
northern Gulf waters through Sun.
