Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Franklin has formed in the NW
Caribbean, near 16.4N 83.0W at 11 pm EDT moving WNW at 11 kt.
Maximum sustained winds are 35 kt with gusts to 45 kt. Franklin
will Move across the Yucatan peninsula, reaching the SW Gulf
Tue, reaching 20.2N 91.3W by late Tue. Franklin will intensify
to a strong tropical storm near 20.9N 95.2W by late Wed, then
making landfall on the coast of Veracruz early Thu. Elsewhere, a
ridge will meander from the Florida Big Bend to NE Texas through
Tue, then lift N of the region by mid week.
