Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Weak ridging over the northern Gulf will shift S
tonight ahead of a cold front moving into the region. The front
stall along roughly 27N Sun, before becoming diffuse through mid
week. The ridge will build mid to late week from S Florida
through the Texas coast. Meanwhile, a trough will develop over
the Yucatan peninsula each evening, drift westward during the
overnight hours, and dissipate over the SW Gulf each morning.

.OVERNIGHT...SW winds less than 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. 
.SUN...W winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 2 ft or less, building to 3 ft
in the afternoon.
