Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...Surface ridging will be the dominant feature across the Gulf with a center of high pressure intermittently forming and dissipating mainly in the north-central and northeast regions of the basin. Otherwise, a surface trough will be developing in the Yucatan Peninsula each evening before pushing offshore into the SW Gulf each night. The trough will drift westward during the overnight hours, and dissipate in the SW Gulf each morning. Fresh to strong winds are possible in the SW basin during the weekend and early next week at night associated with the trough.
