between 55W and 64W

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Maria is centered near 14.6N 59.5W 977 mb
at 5 AM EDT moving WNW at 11 kt. Maximum sustained winds 80 kt
gusts 100 kt. Maria is forecast to gradually strengthen while
moving to 15.1N 60.6W this afternoon, then in the far NE
Caribbean near 15.8N 62.0W tonight, 16.6N 63.4W Tue afternoon,
17.4N 64.8W Tue night, before cross Puerto Rico and moving to
the N of Hispaniola near 19.0N 67.7W by Wed night. Maria will
move near Turks and Caicos by late Thu before moving farther N
of the area. Elsewhere a tropical wave extending S from the
Windward Passage will move through the western Caribbean through
mid- week.
