.SYNOPSIS...High pressure over the area will shift today as as
low pressure develops near the coast of Texas. The low pressure
is forecast to track northeastward along the Texas coast today,
then eastward along or just inland the northern Gulf coast
through Fri to inland the southeastern U.S. late Fri night. A
trailing cold front will exit the basin through late Sat
afternoon. Strong to near gale-force southerly winds are
forecast ahead of the front, with fresh to strong northerly
winds behind it. Widespread showers and strong thunderstorms,
some potentially severe, are expected with the low center and
the cold front. High pressure in its wake will also quickly
shift eastward from late Sat night through Sun night, allowing
for fresh to strong southerly winds to develop over the western
Gulf. These winds shift to the central and eastern Gulf Mon and
Mon night as a cold front moves across the western Gulf.  

Northwest Gulf of Mexico

.TODAY...SE winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Scattered showers
and thunderstorms.
.TONIGHT...SE to S winds 15 to 20 kt between 90W and 94W, and
SE to S winds 10 kt in the evening becoming variable less than 5
kt W of 94W. Seas 5 to 7 ft between 90W and 94W, and 3 to 5 ft 
in SE swell W of 94W. Scattered to numerous showers and 
thunderstorms. 
.FRI...W winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft in SE swell. 
.FRI NIGHT...NW to N winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. 
.SAT...N winds 20 to 25 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. 
.SAT NIGHT...NE to E winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft.
