000 FZNT27 KNHC 062047 OFFN06 NAVTEX Marine Forecast NWS National Hurricane Center Miami, FL 347 PM EST Sat Jan 6 2024 ...Please refer to Coastal Waters Forecasts (CWF) available through NOAA Weather Radio and other means for detailed Coastal Waters Forecasts... .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from Cedar Key, FL to near 24N89W, where it becomes a stationary front to the central Bay of Campeche. The cold front will become stationary Sun afternoon from the Straits of Florida to 20N95W. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are out ahead of the front along a squall line that is presently in the southeastern Gulf. Looking ahead, a very strong cold front is expected to enter the western Gulf Mon evening and move southeast of the basin Tue night. Strong to near gale force SE to S winds will begin in advance of the cold front, Sun night into early Mon, as a warm front advances northward across the basin, which should result in scattered showers and thunderstorms. Gale force winds are expected by early Mon afternoon over the north-central Gulf, with gusts possibly reaching the high end of the gale force speed range. Strong to near gale force winds are also expected across most of the basin by that same time. Strong to severe thunderstorms will likely accompany the cold front over portions of the northern Gulf. Conditions quiet down Wed through Thu s high pressure in the wake of the front shifts E across the central Gulf. This will allow for moderate return flow to set up over the far western Gulf. By late Thu, moderate to fresh E to SE winds are expected across just about the entire basin as the high pressure will have shifted E of northern Florida.
