.SYNOPSIS...A stationary front from near Mobile Bay to Veracruz,
Mexico, is beginning to move east as a cold front. A band of
showers and thunderstorms is east of the front over the north-
central to northeast Gulf. A stronger cold front will enter the
NW Gulf early Fri morning, and merge with the stalled front Fri
evening from the western Florida Panhandle to the central Bay of
Campeche. The front will reach from near the Florida Big Bend to
the Yucatan Channel by Sat afternoon. Northerly gale force winds
are expected near Tampico, Mexico Fri afternoon, and offshore
Veracruz, Mexico late Fri afternoon through Sat morning. Gales
are also forecast to persist over the central Bay of Campeche
through Sat morning. Very rough seas are expected in the wake of
the front, especially over the SW Gulf. Low pressure is likely
to form along the frontal boundary Sat over the NE Gulf. Strong
to near- gale force winds are expected near this low pres over
the NE Gulf Sat and Sat night before it moves over land toward
the Georgia coast. Winds and seas will gradually diminish from W
to E late Sun.  

Northwest Gulf of Mexico

.TONIGHT...NE to E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. 
.FRI...N to NE winds 10 to 15 kt, becoming N 25 to 30 kt in the
afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Scattered tstms. 
.FRI NIGHT...NW to N winds 25 to 30 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft.
Scattered showers. 
.SAT...NW winds 20 to 30 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft. 
.SAT NIGHT...NW to N winds 20 to 30 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft. 
.SUN...N winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming N to NE 5 to 10 kt in the
afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 ft in N swell. 
.SUN NIGHT...NE to E winds 5 to 10 kt, shifting to SE to S 10 to
15 kt after midnight. Seas 3 ft in the evening, subsiding to
2 ft or less. 
.MON...SE to S winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. 
.MON NIGHT...SE to S winds 20 to 25 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft, building
to 5 to 7 ft after midnight. 
.TUE...S to SW winds 20 to 25 kt. Seas 7 to 10 ft in S swell. 
.TUE NIGHT...S winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft in SE to S
swell.
