000 FZNT27 KNHC 012033 OFFN06 NAVTEX Marine Forecast NWS National Hurricane Center Miami, FL 433 PM EDT Wed Jun 1 2022 ...Please refer to Coastal Waters Forecasts (CWF) available through NOAA Weather Radio and other means for detailed Coastal Waters Forecasts... .SYNOPSIS...A broad area of low pressure located near the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the northwestern Caribbean Sea and Yucatan Peninsula. Gradual development is expected and this system is likely to become a tropical depression while it moves slowly northeastward over the northwestern Caribbean Sea and southeastern Gulf of Mexico during the next day or two. Regardless of development, locally heavy rainfall is likely across portions of the Yucatan Peninsula during the next day or so, spreading across western Cuba, South Florida, and the Florida Keys on Friday and Saturday. This system has a high chance of development in 48 hours. Otherwise, a high pressure ridge extends from the western Atlantic across the northern Gulf. This will maintain moderate to locally fresh southeast winds over the western and central Gulf through tonight. Winds there become fresh to strong in the southeast Gulf through late Fri in response to the area of low pressure. Northwest Gulf of Mexico .TONIGHT...E to SE winds 10 to 15 kt.
