000 FZNT27 KNHC 212132 OFFN06 NAVTEX Marine Forecast NWS National Hurricane Center Miami, FL 532 PM EDT Sat May 21 2022 ...Please refer to Coastal Waters Forecasts (CWF) available through NOAA Weather Radio and other means for detailed Coastal Waters Forecasts... .SYNOPSIS...Fresh to strong southeast winds along with occasionally rough seas will prevail from the south-central Gulf to the northwest Gulf into Sun between high pressure over the western Atlantic and broad low pressure over southern Mexico and northern Central America. Winds and seas will diminish Sun into Mon as the low pressure weakens, except for pulses off fresh to strong winds off the north coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, mainly at night. Looking ahead, a ridge will build from westward from the western Atlantic across the northern Gulf through mid-week. The associated gradient between the ridge and low pressure with a cold front west of the area will support fresh southeast return flow over the western Gulf through late Wed. The cold front is expected to move into the western Gulf on Thu followed by gentle to moderate north to northeast winds. A large area of numerous thunderstorms, with strong to occasional gale-force wind gusts along with frequent lightning is over the NE Gulf. This activity is likely to continue through late tonight, while it gradually shifts to the southwest. Otherwise, hazy conditions persist over some areas of the western Gulf due to agricultural fires in southern Mexico. Northwest Gulf of Mexico .TONIGHT...SE winds 20 to 25 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft.
