.SYNOPSIS...Moderate to fresh NW winds over the eastern half of
the Gulf will continue through this morning. Southerly moderate
to fresh winds are forecast to begin tonight across the western
half of the basin ahead of a strong cold front forecast to enter
the Gulf region by Sat morning. Strong to near gale force
northerly winds will follow the front, increasing to gale-force
along the eastern Mexico offshore waters Sat and Sat night. Gale
force winds are briefly forecast for the NW and north-central
Gulf Sat night.  The front will move E of the area early Sun
afternoon.  

Northwest Gulf of Mexico

.TODAY...W to NW winds 5 to 10 kt, shifting to S to SW in the
afternoon. Seas 2 ft or less. 
.TONIGHT...S winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 2 ft or less, building to
3 to 4 ft after midnight. 
.SAT...SW winds 15 to 20 kt, shifting to W to NW 20 to 30 kt in
the afternoon. Seas 3 to 5 ft,building to 6 to 8 ft in the
afternoon. Scattered showers. 
.SAT NIGHT...NW winds 25 to 35 kt. Seas 11 to 16 ft in NW swell.
.SUN...NW winds 20 to 30 kt. Seas 8 to 13 ft in NW swell. 
.SUN NIGHT...NW winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft,subsiding to
3 to 4 ft after midnight.
