.SYNOPSIS...Major Hurricane Laura is centered near 27.0N 92.0W
956 mb at 11 AM EDT moving NW at 14 kt. Maximum sustained winds
110 kt gusts 135 kt. Laura is producing very dangerous, life-
threatening marine conditions across the northern Gulf offshore
waters. The center of Laura will approach the Upper Texas and
southwest Louisiana coasts and move to 28.5N 93.2W this evening,
move inland to 31.0N 93.8W Thu morning, then weaken to a
tropical storm near 33.7N 93.5W Thu evening. Long-period swell
from Laura will impact much of the basin through Thu. Atlantic
high pressure will build westward over the eastern Gulf in the
wake of Laura.

Seas 16 to 30 ft. Scattered showers and tstms with vsby 1 NM or

105 kt, shifting to S to SW 75 to 85 kt after midnight. Seas
15 to 27 ft, subsiding to 9 to 18 ft after midnight. Scattered
showers and isolated tstms. 
.THU...TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS EXPECTED WITH HURRICANE
CONDITIONS POSSIBLE. S to SW winds 25 to 35 kt. Seas 8 to 13 ft
