As the high pressure slides east Wed, winds across the E Gulf will weaken and strong S return flow will develop over the NW Gulf. A cold front moving into the NW Gulf Thu will shift fresh to strong return flow to the N central Gulf Thu and will bring an end the strong winds Fri. This front will shift slowly eastward across the Gulf and reach from the Florida Big Bend region to Tampico Mexico by Fri afternoon, from the Florida Straits to the Yucatan by Sat afternoon, and move east of the Gulf by Sun.
