.SYNOPSIS...Weak high pressure across the NE Gulf extends WNW to
central Texas and is producing moderate to fresh SE winds across
the west half of the basin. The pressure gradient will tighten
today and tonight as a tropical wave moves across the Yucatan
Peninsula and into the SW Gulf, and then slowly WNW across the
western Gulf Thu and Fri. A surface trough will develop along
the Yucatan Peninsula late each afternoon, and drift westward
across the southwest Gulf waters during the overnight hours,
accompanied by a strong east to southeast wind shift with the
trough dissipating along 96W during the late mornings.
