Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure over the area will shift today as as
low pressure develops near the coast of Texas. The low pressure
is forecast to track northeastward along the Texas coast today,
then eastward along or just inland the northern Gulf coast
through Fri to inland the southeastern U.S. late Fri night.
A trailing cold front will exit the basin through late Sat 
afternoon. Strong to near gale-force southerly winds are 
forecast ahead of the front, with fresh to strong northerly 
winds behind it. Widespread showers and strong thunderstorms, 
some potentially severe, are expected with the low center and 
the cold front. High pressure in its wake will also quickly 
shift eastward from late Sat night through Sun night, allowing 
for fresh to strong southerly winds to develop over the western 
Gulf. These winds shift to the central and eastern Gulf Mon and 
Mon night as a cold front moves across the western Gulf.  

.TODAY...E winds 10 to 15 kt, except in Straits of Florida increasing
to 15 to 20 kt in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 5 ft, except 4 to 6 ft 
Straits of Florida. Isolated showers.
.TONIGHT...SE winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Scattered 
showers and isolated thunderstorms. 
.FRI...SE to S winds 20 to 25 kt, becoming W 15 to 20 kt early in
the evening. Seas 6 to 9 ft in SE swell. Numerous showers and
thunderstorms.
.FRI NIGHT...S to SW winds 10 to 15 kt, except S winds 20 to 25 kt 
Straits of Florida. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Widespread showers and
strong to possibly severe thunderstorms. 
.SAT...W to NW winds 15 to 20 kt, except SW to W winds 20 to 25 kt 
Straits of Florida. Seas 5 to 7 ft.
.SAT NIGHT...NW to N winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft.
.SUN...NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft in NW swell.

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from near 31N56W southwestward 
to 23N64W, where it transitions to a stationary front to northern
Hispaniola. By Fri morning, the northern part of the front will 
shift E of the area, while the southern part will remain nearly 
stationary along the northern coast of Hispaniola. The front will 
dissipate E of the area on Sat. High pressure in the wake of the 
front will quickly move eastward through Fri night, allowing for 
fresh to strong southerly winds to develop E of Florida as low 
pressure tracks northeastward from the Gulf of Mexico to inland 
the southeastern U.S. Fri night into Sat. These winds will expand
in coverage ahead of a cold front that will trail from the low 
over the western waters, reaching from near 31N69W to the
Windward Passage by late Sun night and from near 31N64W to 
near the Virgin Islands by late Mon night. Gale conditions will 
be possible over most of the northern and central zones with the 
southerly winds Fri through Sat. Strong to near gale force 
northeast winds and rough seas will follow this front.

10 kt, shifting to E to SE in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 4 ft.
.TONIGHT...E winds 15 to 20 kt S of 27N, and E to SE 10 to 15 kt 
N of 27N. Seas 3 to 4 ft.
.FRI...SE to S winds 20 to 30 kt. Seas 8 to 11 ft N of 27N, and 
6 to 8 ft S of 27N. Scattered showers and thunderstorms.
.FRI NIGHT...N of 29N, SW winds 20 to 30 kt W of 79W and S 30 to 
35 kt E of 79W. Seas 9 to 14 ft. S of 29N, SE to S winds 20 to 
30 kt, except SE to S winds 30 to 35 kt from 26N to 29N. Seas 8 
to 12 ft from 26N to 29N, and 7 to 10 ft S of 26N.
