Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A slow-moving and weakening cold front extends from
just N of Tampa Bay to just N of Veracruz, Mexico. This front
should stall along 27N tonight, then drift N and gradually
dissipate into the weekend. Over the weekend, high pressure 
centered in the western Atlantic will build weakly into the basin.

in the afternoon.

.SYNOPSIS...A 1025 mb high pressure centered over Bermuda extends
a ridge SW to south Florida. The ridge will begin to shift S 
today and allow a cold front to sink SE into the NW waters. The 
front is expected to stall along 29N early Fri then gradually 
dissipate into the weekend. Strong high pressure N of the front 
will induce freshening trade winds south of the front and strong 
NE to E winds across the NE waters Fri through Sun, before 
diminishing. 

.TODAY...S of 27N, E winds 10 to 15 kt. N of 27N, SE to S winds
5 to 10 kt, becoming E 15 to 20 kt in the afternoon. Seas 3 to
5 ft.
