Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A broad ridge centered over the Ohio Valley extends
SE into the western Atlantic, behind a slow moving cold front
extending SW across Hispaniola. This pattern will support
moderate to fresh NE to E winds over the E Gulf today. The high
pressure will shift slowly eastward into the eastern U.S.
through Fri, causing winds to veer E, with fresh across the
eastern Gulf and strong winds through the Florida Straits and
adjacent waters through early Fri. SE return flow is expected to
develop Sat, becoming fresh to strong across N portions Sat
night through Sun.

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from 31N65W to Haiti. Strong NW
to N winds prevail between the front and 75W to the N of 27N, 
becoming N to NE to the S of 27N. Strong high pressure will
build  into the western Atlantic behind the front through early
Thu and  maintain the fresh to strong N to NE winds, before
gradually  diminishing to moderate to fresh Thu night through
Fri. The front will move SE and reach from 31N61W to central 
Hispaniola Wed evening, from 28N55W to the N Mona Passage Thu 
evening, then gradually dissipate through Fri. Winds will slowly 
subside Fri night and Sat as high pressure weakens, with seas 
subsiding modestly.
