Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Weak high pressure over the lower Mississippi Valley
extending across the northern Gulf will control the weather
pattern across basin through early next week. This will support
mostly gentle to moderate east to southeast winds and slight
seas, except for moderate to fresh winds pulsing offshore the
western Yucatan Peninsula in the evenings.  

.THIS AFTERNOON...NE winds 5 to 10 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 ft
or less. Scattered showers and isolated tstms. 
.TONIGHT...NE to E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered
showers and isolated tstms. 
.SAT...NE to E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered
showers and isolated tstms. 
.SAT NIGHT...NE to E winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. Scattered

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...Potential Tropical Cyclone Sixteen is near 32.3N
75.6W  at 11 AM EDT, moving north at 10 kt. Maximum sustained
winds are 45 kt with gusts to 55 kt. Minimum central pressure is
996 mb.  Sixteen will move to 33.2N 76.3W this evening, then
continue to  move north of the area and inland across coastal
North Carolina  early Sat. A weak ridge will build in the wake
of Sixteen off  northeast Florida through early next week,
although a trough will persist across the Bahamas. Looking
ahead, combined seas will  build northeast of the Leeward
Islands starting Mon ahead of low  pressure moving westward
across the tropical Atlantic, possibly  as the next tropical
cyclone. 

.THIS AFTERNOON...S of 27N, N winds 5 to 10 kt in the afternoon.
N of 27N, NW winds 15 to 20 kt in the afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 ft
in NE swell. Scattered showers and isolated tstms. 
.TONIGHT...NE to E winds 5 to 10 kt S of 27N, and NW to N 15 to
20 kt N of 27N. Seas 5 to 7 ft in NE swell. Scattered showers and
isolated tstms.
