Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A weak ridge across the northern Gulf will dominate
the basin throughout the forecast period, supporting mainly
light to gentle winds N of 24N and gentle to moderate winds S of
24N. Moderate return flow will develop across the W and SW Gulf
Thu night. Scattered thunderstorms can be expected across the
western Yucatan and eastern Bay of Campeche each late afternoon
and evening.

.TONIGHT...N to NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft.

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Lee is near 26.4N 67.2W at 11 AM EDT, and is
moving north-northwest at 8 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 100 
kt with gusts to 120 kt, and the minimum central pressure is 948 
mb. Lee will move to near 27.6N 67.7W this evening with maximum 
sustained winds 95 kt gusts 115 kt, to near 29.6N 68.2W early Thu 
with maximum sustained winds 90 kt gusts 110 kt, and continue to 
slowly weaken as it passes WSW of Bermuda near 31.8N 68.2W early 
Thu evening with maximum sustained winds 85 kt gusts 105 kt and 
weakening further as it lifts to well N of the area through the 
weekend. Large swell from Lee will propagate in all directions and
dominate the regional waters W of 55W through Fri. 

.THIS AFTERNOON...N winds 10 to 15 kt in the afternoon. Seas 5 to
7 ft. Scattered showers and thunderstorms NW part. Isolated
showers and thunderstorms.
.TONIGHT...N to NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft in NE to E
swell. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
.THU...N winds 5 to 10 kt S of 27N, and N 10 to 15 kt N of 27N.
