Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A front across the northern Gulf will slowly move S
through Fri night, followed by moderate to locally fresh N to NE
winds E of 90W through Sat morning. Otherwise, weak high
pressure will generally dominate the basin through the next
several days, supporting gentle to moderate winds. Seas are
presently slight, but will build to slight to moderate through
Sat with the increasing winds behind the front.

.TONIGHT...NW to N winds 10 to 15 kt, becoming NE 5 to 10 kt 
late. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered showers and isolated tstms. 
.THU...NE to E winds 5 to 10 kt, shifting to N in the afternoon. 
Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered showers and isolated tstms. 
.THU NIGHT...N to NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 2 ft or less,
building to 3 ft late. Scattered showers and isolated tstms.

.SYNOPSIS...Elongated troughing extends from 31N68W to the SE
Bahamas with a stationary front from 31N74W to near Melbourne,
Florida. Fresh to strong SE winds, rough seas, with scattered 
showers and tstms will prevail E of the trough this evening. New 
low pres in the eastern Gulf of Mexico is forecast to gradually 
move ENE tonight, then off the peninsula into the SW N Atlantic 
Thu and Thu night, then across the far NW waters through Sat 
night. The pres gradient between high pres over the eastern U.S. 
and the low will support fresh to locally strong NE winds and 
large NE swell across the NE Florida offshore waters beginning Thu
night, spreading southward to near Daytona Beach Fri through Sat 
before the low moves N of the area. NE gales are possible offshore
northern Florida Fri night.
