Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A strong cold front from the north central Gulf to
the central Bay of Campeche will move eastward, pushing east of
the basin by the end of the weekend. An intense area of
thunderstorms with locally higher winds and seas will precede
the front. Strong to gale-force NW winds are expected
immediately behind the front through around sunset. Hazy
conditions generated by agricultural fires in Mexico will linger
across the central Gulf and eastern Bay of Campeche ahead of the
front. High pres will become centered over the eastern Gulf Mon
through Wed. Popocatepetl Volcano in Mexico at 19.1N 98.4W is
currently in a state of unrest and is producing volcanic ash
extending into portions of the SW Gulf of Mexico. Volcanic ash
may be reaching the surface S of 21N W of 94W. Mariners should
exercise caution. If mariners encounter volcanic ash or floating
volcanic debris, you are encouraged to report the observation to
the National Hurricane Center by calling 305-229-4424.

.TONIGHT...SW winds 20 to 25 kt. Frequent gusts to gale force N of
26.5N within 60 nm of shore. Seas 5 to 7 ft.
Winds and seas higher in scattered tstms.
.SUN...W winds 20 to 30 kt, becoming W to NW 15 to 20 kt in the 
afternoon. Frequent gusts to gale force N of 26.5N within 60 nm 
of shore through the morning. Seas 7 to 11 ft.

.SYNOPSIS...High pres along 26N/27N will linger through tonight 
ahead of a strong cold front. The front is forecast to move off 
the US East Coast Sun night through Mon, with strong to gale- 
force southerly winds developing early Sun ahead of the front to 
the N of 28N and W of 70W, as well as in the coastal waters S of 
28N. The front will then gradually weaken and slow early next 
week. Another, weaker front may move across the northern waters 
mid-week.

.TONIGHT...S winds 15 to 20 kt S of 27N, and S 20 to 25 kt N of
27N. S of 27N, seas 2 ft or less, building to 3 ft late. N of

.SUN...SW winds 25 to 35 kt. Frequent gusts to gale force within
60 nm of shore. Seas 3 to 5 ft S of 27N, and 6 to 11 ft N of 27N.
