Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Fresh to strong SE to S winds are expected today,
ahead of a cold front forecast to move off the Texas coast
tonight. The front will reach from Apalachicola, FL to the
central Bay of Campeche Fri evening before stalling and
weakening later Fri night into early Sat. Near-gale force S
winds, with frequent gusts to gale force, will precede the front
across the eastern Gulf late tonight through Fri morning, mainly
west of 84W. Winds and seas should subside by Sat. 

.TODAY...SE to S winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. 
.TONIGHT...SE to S winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. 
.FRI...S winds 20 to 30 kt. Seas 6 to 9 ft. 
.FRI NIGHT...S winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. 
.SAT...S to SW winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. 
.SAT NIGHT...SW to W winds 5 to 10 kt, shifting to E to SE after
midnight. Seas 3 to 5 ft.

.SYNOPSIS...Surface ridging prevails across the area, with 
moderate anticyclonic winds. A cold front is forecast to exit the
U.S. southeast coast Fri night and track eastward. It will bring 
strong S to SW winds east of Florida Fri through Sat morning.
Thereafter, ridging will build in across the area along 25N.
