Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A strong cold front extends from Fort Myers, Florida SW to the central Bay of Campeche. Near gale to gale-force northerly winds prevail behind the front with very rough seas, except for minimal storm-force winds in the Veracruz offshore waters. Storm-force winds will diminish back to gale-force as the front stretches from the Florida Keys to the Yucatan by this evening and then exit the basin tonight. Gale-force winds will come to an end tonight for most of the Gulf with conditions slowly improving through the weekend and into early next week. The cold front will reach from 31N67W to eastern Cuba by Sat morning and stall from 31N63W to central Cuba by Sun. Large swell E of 65W will shift as the front moves eastward.
