Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A 1016 mb low pres centered near 27.5N91.5W will
continue moving ESE across the Gulf of Mexico through Wed, with
a cold front extending SSW and a stationary front extending E
from the low. The pressure gradient between the low and strong
high pressure over the SE United States is causing gale-force E
winds in the NE Gulf offshore waters through tonight. NW
gale-force winds are also prevailing through tonight within
60 nm offshore Veracruz. Fresh to strong N winds are expected
elsewhere behind the front through this evening. Scattered
showers and thunderstorms are expected E of the low. Looking
ahead, a stronger cold front is expected to move off the Texas
coast Thu evening followed by near-gale to gale force NW winds
and rough to very rough seas across the basin through Fri night,
with strong gales possible off Veracruz beginning of Fri.

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from 31N49W to 24N67W, then 
continues as a shearline to across the Central Bahamas and the 
Straits of Florida. The front will continue moving slowly E
tonight. A low pres currently over the Gulf of Mexico will cross
South Florida tonight and move ENE near the NW Bahamas by Wed 
morning. Another low will develop N of the area along 80W. These
lows will support NE gale-force winds across the west Atlantic on
Wed as they move east of the Bahamas. These gales should diminish
by early Thu. Winds will become southerly Thu ahead of a stronger
cold front expected to move off the northeast Florida coast Fri, 
accompanied by strong to near-gale force NW winds and rough seas. 
NW gales are possible to the east of northern Florida with this 
front.
