The pressure gradient between the low and strong high pressure over the SE United States is causing gale-force E winds in the NE Gulf offshore waters through tonight. NW gale-force winds are also prevailing through tonight within 60 nm offshore Veracruz. Fresh to strong N winds are expected elsewhere behind the front through this evening. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected E of the low.
