Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida .SYNOPSIS...Showers and thunderstorms have increased since last evening near a large non-tropical area of 980 mb low pressure located over the central subtropical Atlantic about 850 miles east- southeast of Bermuda, near 29N51W. However, the system remains embedded within a frontal zone, which is expected to become more pronounced later today as the low begins to move east- northeastward at 20 to 25 mph toward colder waters and interact with a mid-latitude trough. Therefore, while the system could show some subtropical characteristics today, its chances to fully transition to a subtropical or tropical cyclone appear to be decreasing. Nevertheless, significant non-tropical development of this low is expected during the next couple of days. Overall, there is a low chance of subtropical or tropical development within the next 48 hours. Large long-period north to northeast swell will impact the Atlantic waters and Caribbean Passages between the southeastern Bahamas and the E Caribbean producing high seas into the start of next week, with large E swell reaching the Florida offshore waters N of 26N early Fri through Sat. .TODAY...NE to E winds 15 to 20 kt S of 27N, and N to NE 10 to 15 kt N of 27N.
