Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...The pressure gradient between high pressure over the
Gulf waters and Hurricane Ian located E of Florida near 29.3N
79.9W supports an area of fresh to strong northerly winds over
the eastern Gulf, mainly N of 25N and E of 87W, with seas in the
8 to 11 ft range. Fresh to strong NW to N winds and seas of
8-9 ft are also noted over the SW Gulf, including the Veracruz
area. Winds and seas are forecast to gradually diminish over the
Gulf region over the next couple of days. Looking ahead, a cold
front may enter the NE Gulf late Sat or Sun then stall and
dissipate.

moving NNE at 9 kt. Maximum sustained winds 65 kt gusts 80 kt. 
Ian will move to 30.5N 79.4W Fri morning, 32.8N 79.6W Fri 
afternoon, weaken as an extratropical cyclone near 35.0N 80.4W 
Sat morning, 36.5N 81.0W Sat afternoon, and dissipate Sun 
morning. Winds and seas will diminish across the region Sat into
Sun.

and S to SW 55 to 65 kt N of 27N. Seas 3 to 4 ft S of 27N, and

CONDITIONS POSSIBLE. S of 27N, SW to W winds 10 to 15 kt. N of
27N, S to SW winds 35 to 40 kt, diminishing to 25 to 30 kt in the
afternoon. Seas 3 ft S of 27N, and 9 to 14 ft N of 27N. Scattered
showers and isolated tstms.
