Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure extending westward from the Atlantic
across the Gulf will shift northward through the weekend as a
weak cold front approaches the Texas coast and stalls. Fresh to
strong southeast winds over the NW Gulf will diminish to gentle
on Sun, while similar winds over the central Gulf become
confined to the waters near the northern Yucatan Peninsula.
Elsewhere, winds and seas will then diminish slightly across
most of the basin Sun into Mon as the pressure gradient relaxes.
The winds near the northern Yucatan Peninsula will pulse at
night through Wed. Fresh return flow is expected over the
western Gulf Mon night through Tue night. Hazy conditions are
over some areas of the southwestern and west-central Gulf due to
agricultural fires in southern Mexico.

.SYNOPSIS...A high pressure ridge along 29N will lift northward
to 30N tonight, strengthen some through the weekend, then 
weaken next week. The associated pressure gradient will allow
for mainly gentle to moderate winds across the region through
the period, except for pulsing of moderate to fresh east winds 
within about 120 nm north of of Hispaniola during the late 
afternoons and at night through Wed. Very active weather over the 
far western part of the forecast waters, including the NW Bahamas,
will spread northward tonight into Sat. Mariners can expect 
strong gusty winds and locally higher seas with this weather.
