Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...High pressure has settled in over the area. Fresh to strong northwest winds east of 87W are following behind a weakening cold front that is moving across the eastern and central Gulf waters. These winds will shift east of the Gulf tonight as the front quickly exits the southeastern Gulf. Fresh to strong east to southeast return flow is expected in the western Gulf tonight and continue through Wed afternoon. Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from near 31N70W to the central Bahamas and to eastern Cuba. Fresh to strong southwest winds are ahead of the front, with fresh to strong westerly winds behind the front, north of about 28N. The front will reach from near 31N68W to the southeastern Bahamas and to the eastern tip of Cuba late tonight, and from near 31N64W to 25N70W and to the Windward Passage Sun morning. Strong winds are expected to continue ahead and behind this front through Sun. A second cold front that extends from near 31N74W to 28N77W and to West Palm Beach, Florida will be followed by strong to gale-force winds and building seas through Sun as it merges with the first front on Sun morning. High pressure will build over the area early next week, which will improve conditions over most of the forecast waters.
