Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from south-central Louisiana to near the border of Texas and Mexico, with a squall line north of 27N and east of Mobile, Alabama. Intense thunderstorms with frequent and dangerous lightning will precede the front over the far NE waters through this afternoon. Strong southerly flow with frequent gusts to gale force in the NE Gulf will shift eastward ahead of the squall line. The front will reach from the Florida Big Bend to near Tuxpan, Mexico by this evening, and become stationary from central Florida to the central Gulf near 27N90W, then to southern Texas by late on Fri and through Sat. The western part of the front will begin to lift back north as a warm front through Mon as southerly return flow begins to dominate the Gulf. .THIS AFTERNOON...SE to S winds 15 to 20 kt.
