Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...High pressure centered over eastern Texas will control the weather regime over the region through the remainder of the week, resulting in gentle to moderate northeast to east winds across the forecast waters. The pressure gradient is forecast to strengthen over the Gulf during the upcoming weekend as the high pressure shifts eastward to the eastern Gulf. Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from a 1013 mb low near 31N72W to the central Bahamas and to east-central Cuba and to the, Straits of Florida. The low is producing gale-force winds just N of the area. The low will lift well to the N of the forecast waters, with the cold front reaching from near 31N68W to eastern Cuba by late tonight. Strong high pressure will build across the western Atlantic in the wake of the front, with the pressure gradient between it and a weakening cold front that will move S into the area leading to fresh to strong easterly winds over most of the forecast waters by this weekend.
