Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Fresh to strong SE to S winds are noted across the
north-central Gulf ahead of a cold front that has entered the NW
Gulf. Frequent gusts to gale force and high seas are expected in
the wake of the front over the NW Gulf tonight. Sustained gale-
force winds and rough seas are forecast in the SW Gulf near
Veracruz Fri afternoon and evening. The front will reach from
the western Florida panhandle to 24N95W to the western Bay of
Campeche by Fri morning, and from near Ft. Myers, Florida to the
central Bay of Campeche by Sat morning. The front will dissipate
across the Gulf region on Sun with a trough persisting over the
SW Gulf. Moderate to fresh return flow will dominate early next
week.

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...Strong high pressure located N of the area will
shift eastward allowing the next cold from to move off northern
Florida by Fri evening. The front will reach from 31N75W to near
Lake Okeechobee by Sat morning, and from 31N60W to the NW
Bahamas by Sun morning. Fresh to strong southerly winds are
expected ahead of the front on Fri. Fresh to strong northerly
winds are forecast in the wake of the front Sat night into Sun.
Then, high pressure  behind the front will dominate the region
the remainder of the  forecast period.
