Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A 1001 mb extratropical low has moved inland over Florida near 28N81W, and gales have ended over the eastern Gulf of Mexico. A cold front extends south-southwestward from the low to the western tip of Cuba. Fresh to strong winds and seas of 7 to 9 ft over the eastern Gulf will gradually subside late tonight and early Wed. Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida .SYNOPSIS...A 1001 mb low pressure centered inland over east- central Florida near 28N81W will move into the western Atlantic late this afternoon. The low will then move NE and north of the area tonight. Gale force winds are forecast to develop on the south side of the low, near the coast of Florida, late this afternoon. Gales will persist south of the low through early Wed morning, mainly north of 28N and west of 71W, before the gales move north of 31N. A trailing cold front will cross the region tonight through Wed, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms with it. Building high pressure behind the low should lead toward tranquil conditions Thu night through Fri night. Looking ahead, a strong pressure gradient is likely to develop north of 29N this weekend in between low pressure systems tracking along 40N and the subtropical high, which will be situated along 25N,leading to strong W winds and building seas north of 29N. ...GALE WARNING... .TONIGHT...SW to W winds 20 to 30 kt, except 25 to 35 kt north of 27N.
