Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...The southern end of a surface trough extends across
South Florida into the SE Gulf, generating some shower and
thunderstorm activity. The remainder of the Gulf region is under
the influence of a ridge forecast to dominate the basin during
the next several days. Moderate to fresh return flow will
prevail across the western Gulf through the middle of the week
due to the pressure gradient between the ridge and lower
pressures over Texas and NE Mexico.

.SYNOPSIS...A large non-tropical low pressure area is nearly 
stationary N of the forecast region, and about 85 nm southeast
of Morehead City, North Carolina. A surface trough extends from
the low center across South Florida. The trough will remain 
nearly stationary through at least Mon. A tropical wave moving 
across the Caribbean Sea will bring an increase in winds and seas 
across the SE waters through Mon night.

.TODAY...W winds less than 5 kt S of 27N, and NW to N 5 to 10 kt
N of 27N. Seas 2 ft or less S of 27N, and 3 to 4 ft N of 27N.
