Upper level diffluent flow continue to support similar convective activity over the Bay of Campeche. Otherwise, a weak pressure gradient support light to gentle variable winds with seas to 3 ft. Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida .SYNOPSIS...A large, non-tropical low pressure system located about 130 nmi SE of Morehead City and Wilmington, North Carolina, is producing a broad area of gale-force winds to the W and N of the center. A surface trough extends from the low into the SW N Atlantic waters and continues to produce showers and tstms across the Bahamas and offshore zones W of 70W. Scatterometer data show fresh to locally strong winds NE of Freeport associated with the convective activity. The low could acquire subtropical characteristics late this afternoon through early Sunday. The low is forecast to move slowly NW during the next day or so, and approach the North Carolina coast tonight and early Sunday.
