Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A surface trough extends from 27N88W to 24N93W and
to 19N83W. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are along
and near the trough. The trough will drift westward toward the
Texas coast through Mon night. Otherwise, moderate winds prevail
north of the trough. Winds and seas will diminish across the
basin through Mon as high pressure builds over the northern
Gulf. The high pressure will change little through Thu night. 

.THIS AFTERNOON...Variable winds less than 5 kt. Seas 3 ft or less.  
Isolated showers and thunderstorms. 
.TONIGHT...NE to E winds 10 kt. Seas 3 ft or less. Isolated

.SYNOPSIS...A surface trough extends from near 30N72W to the
central Bahamas and to 22N77W. Scattered showers and
thunderstorms are along and near this trough. The trough will 
move little today, then gradually shift eastward through Tue 
night. Farther east, Major Hurricane Sam located over the tropical
N Atlantic waters near 13.9N 50.2W 943 mb at 11 AM EDT is moving 
WNW at 7 kt. Maximum sustained winds 125 kt gusts 150 kt. Sam is 
forecast to turn northwest on Mon and track in a northwestward 
motion through mid-week as it slowly weakens reaching near 21N60W 
by early on Thu with maximum sustained winds 110 kt gusts 135 kt.

.THIS AFTERNOON...N to NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. 
.TONIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and NE 5 to 10 kt N of
27N. Seas 3 to 4 ft. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms
