.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Depression Nicholas near 30.0N 94.1W
1004 mb at 11 PM EDT moving ENE at 5 kt. Maximum sustained winds
30 kt gusts 40 kt. Nicholas will move inland to 30.2N 93.6W Wed
morning, become a remnant low Thu morning. Tropical depression
conditions will remain over the SE Texas and SW Louisiana
coastal waters through Wednesday. Moderate to fresh winds
prevail over the north-central waters through Wed afternoon. For
the remainder of the week, gentle to moderate return flow will
dominate across the basin.

.SYNOPSIS...A weak surface ridge is providing mainly gentle to
moderate easterly winds. Locally fresh winds are over the
offshore waters E of the Bahamas due to convection associated
with a surface trough that extends to the Turks and Caicos.
Environmental conditions are forecast to be marginally conducive
for gradual tropical cyclone development during the next few 
days, and a tropical depression is likely to form while the 
system moves NNW to N across the western Atlantic. Regardless of
development, increased winds and seas are expected over the 
N-central and NE waters Wed and Thu.
