.SYNOPSIS...At 11 PM EDT, Tropical Depression Fred is over
Hispaniola near 19.5N 72.2W, with an estimated pressure of
1009 mb, moving WNW at 13 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 30 kt
with gusts to 40 kt. Fred is expected to move across the Straits
of Florida as a tropical storm by Fri night, enter the far
southeast Gulf of Mexico on Sat, and move northward along the
far eastern Gulf into early next week. Elsewhere, gentle to 
moderate winds and slight seas will persist through the period.

.SYNOPSIS...At 11 PM EDT, Tropical Depression Fred is over land
in Hispaniola near 19.5N 72.2W, with a pressure of 1009 mb,
moving WNW at 13 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 30 kt with
gusts to 40 kt. Fred will move to 20.4N 73.9W Thu morning, to
21.6N 76.1W in the Old Bahama Channel Thu evening. Fred will
strengthen to a tropical storm near 22.5N 78.1W Fri morning and
continue to 23.5N 79.8W in the Cay Sal area by Fri evening. Fred
will continue into the far southeast Gulf of Mexico late Fri
night into early Sat. Elsewhere, mostly moderate E to SE winds
and moderate seas will persist between Fred and the
Bermuda-Azores high farther to the northeast in the north
central Atlantic.
