Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Elsa is near 30.8N 83.4W 1002 mb at
5 PM EDT moving N at 10 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 40 kt
gusts 50 kt. Elsa will remain inland and reach 32.8N 82.1W Thu
morning, then weaken to a tropical depression near 35.6N 79.4W
Thu afternoon. Elsa will strengthen to a tropical storm near
38.8N 75.4W Fri morning, reach 42.0N 70.5W Fri afternoon, and
46.0N 64.5W Sat morning. Elsa become extratropical as it moves
over Newfoundland Sat afternoon. Hazardous marine conditions
over the NE Gulf will improve through this evening. In the wake
of Elsa, Atlantic high pressure will build westward across the
area through the next few days. Swells from Elsa are likely to
spread throughout the basin through Sat.

.SYNOPSIS...Fresh southeast winds will continue off the northern
Florida coast through tonight as Tropical Storm Elsa, which
moved inland today into the Florida Panhandle. Elsa is forecast
to track northeastward across the southeastern U.S. through Thu 
allowing for these winds to diminish. High pressure will then 
build westward across the area through the Sun night.
