Environmental conditions are expected to be marginally conducive for development, and a short-lived tropical depression or storm could form before the disturbance moves inland over the northwestern Gulf coast tonight. A strong ridge stretching from the eastern seaboard to the NE Gulf will continue to dominate the Gulf waters into Sat night. The pressure gradient will support fresh to strong SE winds and high seas across the Gulf region through Sat.
